Mumbai Shocker: Fraudsters circulate morphed porn video to family and friends after man fails to repay loan


Bombay, April 30: A 33-year-old man from Mumbai has become the latest victim of cyber fraud after scammers circulated a transformed pornographic video with his photos online.

Police officials said the fraudsters shared the victim’s morphed pornographic video with people on his phone’s contact list after he failed to repay his loan. Maharashtra bride marries another man as drunken groom reaches wedding venue 4 hours late.

According to a report published in the Indian Express, an FIR was against strangers under sections of the Indian Penal Code and Information Technology Act for sending obscene content and for sexual harassment. Cops said the video was also sent to the women.

In his complaint, the accused said that in November last year, he took out a loan of Rs 7,000 through online transactions. When submitting the documents for the loan, the victim authorized access to the contact list on his phone.

The victim alleged that when he failed to repay the loan amount, debt collectors turned his photographs into a pornographic video and sent it to several of his contacts. The complainant further claimed that the alleged transformed video was sent to more than 12 of his family and friends, including four women. Following this, the victim approached the Vasai-Virar police who directed him to Mumbai Central Government Railways Police Station as he had completed the loan taking process when he was at Dadar station, which falls under the jurisdiction of the railway police.
